Q: What is a Pediatrician?

A: A pediatrician is a doctor who has been trained specifically to care for children from birth to age 18 for both well care as well as illness, injuries or problems.

 

Q: How long have you been practicing?

A:  I have practiced Pediatrics for 16 years in Wisconsin prior to moving to Maui.

 

Q: What are the most common medical concerns from parents when they bring their child in for an appointment? Are some of these concerns preventable?

A: Common concerns are illness, injuries and behavior concerns.  Injuries are often preventable or can be minimized with proper safety equipment.

 

Q: What experiences, as a physician, have interested you the most (i.e. schooling, traveling, etc.)?

A: I love meeting new people and finding a way to connect with them that can be meaningful.  I love watching children grow over time and seeing them succeed as they make good choices and keep their body healthy.  

 

Q: If there was only one thing you want all of your patients to know, what would it be?

A: Love your children but don’t be afraid to set and enforce rules and boundaries to guide them on their journey to adulthood.  

 

Q: Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?

A: Gardening, reading, playing piano, exercising (Zumba) and cooking.
