What is a Dermatologist?

A Dermatologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the skin, hair, and nails.

How long have you been practicing Dermatology?

I have been a Board-Certified Dermatologist for 4 years, practicing Dermatology for 7 years if you count residency.

In your dermatology practice, what are the most common medical concerns you see in patients when they come in for an appointment? Are any of these common occurrences preventable?

Skin Cancer, Acne, Psoriasis, and Eczema are the most common.  Skin Cancer is prevented by diligent sun protection and regular skin checks. Eczema can often be prevented by proper skin care and ensuring the skin is moisturized. Unfortunately, the others usually need some form of treatment and there are not many preventative options.

What types of services do you offer to patients?

Skin Checks, removal of unwanted skin lesions, Photodynamic therapy for sun damage, XTRAC laser for psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo, Collagen PIN for acne scars and skin rejuvenation, Cosmetic Botox and Filler for wrinkles and anti-aging. Our department offers products from sunscreen to prescription grade anti-aging products along with having an esthetician to provide medical grade facials and other esthetic services.

If there was only one thing you want all your patients to know, what would it be?

Protect the skin you are in!

Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?

Outside of work I like to spend time with my family and friends, travelling, beach time, working out, hiking, and just exploring new places and people.
